Dre

“Look, I ain’t got time to play with you, Deja. Open the fucking door!” I bellowed.

Truth be told, I really hadn’t been fucking with Deja ever since that incident between her and Mariah a few months back. I hadn’t even spoken to her directly when it came to my son. I’d been using a mediator per my lawyer to make things less confrontational. The mediator was her mother, which was fine with me. She came to my crib and dropped Elijah off and vice versa. I hadn’t been over here, and it had been peaceful but, today, I needed to see her. I told her I needed to speak to her about something important, but she’d been dodging me all week. So, I pulled up on her ass. But, now, she yelling through the door that she busy.

“I wouldn’t give a fuck if you were in labor with triplets, open the gahdamn door!” I yelled back. I heard shuffling on the other side and stood for a few more moments before she finally opened the door. She quickly closed her robe and stared at me.

“What do you want Dre? I’m busy! Today is not your day for Elijah.”

“I ain’t here for that. Move,” I said, shoving my way inside.

“So, what you here for?”

“Are you alone?”

“Yeah, why?”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes Dre! Nobody is here, why?” she probed, putting her hands on her hips.

“Where my son?”

“At my mama’s.”

Just that quick, I snatched her ass up and pinned her against the wall, catching her off guard. She tried to get free, but that wasn’t happening.

“You got something you wanna explain to me?” I yelled.

“What? No! Let me go Dre! What is wrong with you?”

“Let me ask you this. You recall running anybody off the road a few weeks ago?”

“No!”

“Are you sure about that shorty? You ain’t tried to take one of my baby mamas out?”

“Dre, no! I don’t care about none of your females enough to do that!”

“See, I thought the same thing until I saw receipts.”

“Receipts?” she asked.

She had been keeping a poker face, but now it was turning to a nervous look. I pulled up the dash cam clip I got Mariah to forward to my phone and played it for her to see. I scrolled right to the part where you could see and hear her walking away. She shook her head.

“What? So, this ain’t you?”

“No, that’s—that’s not me,” she said in a low voice.

I laughed. “Oh really? So, you got a fucking twin running around?”

“I don’t know, but that’s not me—”

“Don’t fucking lie to me! Now, let’s see how it feels for you to lose something you want, sounds mighty specific to our situation if you ask me!” I shot, repeating her words.

“What you mean?”

“Man, didn’t you fucking lose a baby?”

“Yeah but—”

“Right and you thought if you caused great bodily harm to Mariah, she’d lose hers too, right?”

“I didn’t do it!”

“Cut the shit Deja, it’s on tape! Now, I’ma ask you again. Did you—nah, fuck that! Cuz we already past the point of trying to figure out if you did the shit or not.
